Sachin Tummala – 2004 Entrepreneur of the Year

Following on his selection as one of SMU’s 2004 Distinguished Business Alumni, Sachin Tummala, has been selected Entrepreneur of the Year by the Indian American Friendship Council located in Dallas TX. The award was presented by Hon. Senator Satveer Choudhury on Saturday March 26th night at the Annual Awards Banquet at Pat May Conference Center, in Bedford, TX.

Upon being notified of this award, Sachin said, “It is truly an honor to be recognized by one’s peers and I am highly appreciative of the fact that the Indian American Friendship Council (IAFC) has selected me for this year’s award.” The IAFC is one of the pre-eminent Indian-affiliated, organizations in the US with a charter of bringing together business and community leaders from throughout the US to recognize those members of the community that have made significant contributions.

Corpus, Inc has become a symbol of success within the southwest business community. From first year revenues of under a million to projected revenues in 2005 exceeding $100M, there are few, if any companies anywhere that can claim such rapid growth. From a five man startup to a current employee base of more than 750, with domestic operations in Dallas, Atlanta, Tampa, Boston, Columbus and offshore operations in Bangalore and Hyderabad, India, Corpus has evolved into a major player in the IT business community.

The past year, 2004 has proven to be a very good year for both Corpus and for Sachin. Today, in his new International headquarters facility north of the DFW airport, Sachin can reflect back on a year that has seen Corpus make the transition from small entrepreneurial company to that of being a major force in the IT market, securing his business a position in history as one of the true successes in the DFW area
