e-Xcellerate aims to ensure that more young people make a choice to enter science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) related careers at all levels, and future Generations are properly informed about the science and technology that surrounds them. Classroom-based (a.k.a. instructor-led) training is still an effective way to teach new skills, particularly those subject areas that involve changes in behavior or complex concepts.

E learning goes one step further and adds human support and interaction between students and instructors through text chat technology, electronic bulletin boards, synchronous content delivery (web casting) and online tutors or coaches, thereby extending the scope of what can be effectively taught into many new skill area.
